The SHOAL Centre Independent Living is located in beautiful Sidney, BC. Sidney is about a 5 minute drive from both the Victoria International airport and the BC Ferries. Downtown Victoria is only 20 minutes away. Travel to the USA is easy as Sidney is the island destination for the Anacortes, Washington ferry.
The weather in Sidney is the mildest in Canada, which makes it an ideal location for year-round activities including walking. Some of the local attractions include a historical museum, the Ocean Discovery Centre, whale watching, and a fishing pier with a thriving marine life artificial reef. Our 3.6 kilometers of waterfront allows for many water related activities such as boating, sailing, kayaking, diving and fishing.
The main street features great shopping, and a wide variety of stores, coffee shops and restaurants. The Summer Market is a fun activity and takes place every Thursday evening June to September. If you like to read, Sidney is also host to many fine book stores featuring modern, used, collectors, and antiquarian books.
