I chose to live at the SHOAL Centre because the suites have a fully equipped kitchen and a washer and dryer. Whenever I desire a change in “menu” I go down to the Dining Room for a meal.

Independent Living — that’s for me — I like my own space. There’s a real sense of community: all our activities — we love our shopping trips.

I appreciate the convenient location of living across from the Vancouver Island Regional Library as well as having access to the bus stop next door. I’ve been able to continue with my hobbies which are painting, ceramics, clay work, knitting, computer (reviewing of skills). These activities, with expert advice, are all available at the SHOAL Centre. In the last year I have learned to play the ukulele by attending lessons provided by the SHOAL Centre.

Ha! Ha! Never too old to LEARN.
